USMNT Players Feel Urgency Ahead of Friendly Against Paraguay as World Cup Approaches

The U.S. men's national soccer team is set to face Paraguay in a crucial friendly match, as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup with their roster still undecided.

CHESTER, Pa. – The World Cup, a significant yet cyclical event, looms large for players in the USMNT, central to their focus in daily training. Defender Tim Ream emphasized the ever-present anticipation of the tournament, stating, “It always feels close.” With just under seven months until their opening match, preparations have taken on a new urgency, particularly ahead of a friendly against Paraguay.

As Ream noted, there are only ten training sessions remaining before the World Cup roster is finalized.

In light of this approaching deadline, head coach Mauricio Pochettino is prioritizing quick adaptability among players. “We need to improve our chemistry, even with limited time together on the field,” Ream added.

This match serves as a pivotal moment for USMNT, as it is one of the last opportunities for players to solidify their place in the squad.
