Georgia Football Dismisses Nyier Daniels Following Felony Arrest

Nyier Daniels, a Georgia offensive lineman, has been dismissed from the team following his arrest on multiple felony charges, including fleeing from law enforcement.

Georgia’s head coach Kirby Smart announced the dismissal of offensive lineman Nyier Daniels following his arrest on four felony charges. This incident occurred Sunday in Jackson County, where Daniels allegedly led authorities on a high-speed chase. His mother, Brandi Canada-Green, also faces charges stemming from the same event.

According to authorities, Daniels was arrested after allegedly fleeing a police officer at over 100 mph while driving with family members in the vehicle. He was booked for charges including attempting to elude law enforcement, as well as multiple traffic violations.

In a statement, Coach Smart said, “I have not had a chance to talk to him or his family, but obviously he will no longer be with us.” Daniels had participated in three games for Georgia before this incident.

The police report revealed that the chase began when the officer attempted to pull over Canada-Green for a traffic violation. The incident is one of many driving-related offenses linked to the Georgia football program in recent years, raising concerns about player conduct.
