SJ Tuohy, whose connection with Michael Oher was featured in the bestseller and Oscar-winning film The Blind Side, is likely to be appointed as the athletic director at Louisiana-Monroe, according to CBS Sports’ Brandon Marcello.

Currently, Tuohy, aged 32, is the deputy athletic director for development at Oral Roberts University. Previously, he held the position of executive director for UCF’s official NIL collective.

Tuohy’s professional background includes roles as the assistant athletic director and director of football operations at Liberty, where the team finished the 2020 season ranked 17th in the AP Poll. Additionally, he worked as the associate director of football operations and player personnel at Arkansas.

He graduated from Loyola-Maryland and played college basketball for four years at SMU, where he gained a master’s degree. In The Blind Side, Tuohy was represented by actor Jae Head, portraying a sports enthusiast who aided Oher’s college recruitment. Sandra Bullock, who played Leigh Anne Tuohy, earned the Oscar for Best Actress in 2010.

Oher played for Ole Miss before being drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft, subsequently winning a Super Bowl with the Ravens in 2012.
