Arsenal's Forward Kai Havertz to Undergo Surgery for Torn Hamstring, Out Until 2025-26 Preseason
Kai Havertz will miss the rest of the season due to a torn hamstring requiring surgery. This absence leaves Arsenal with limited striker options.
Kai Havertz will undergo surgery on his torn hamstring in the coming days, Arsenal have announced, with his rehabilitation program expected to extend into the 2025-26 preseason. Havertz suffered the injury at the warm-weather training camp in Dubai last week but the full extent of the injury was confirmed upon his return to London.
Assessments in the capital revealed the worst news for Mikel Arteta, who now must navigate the remainder of this season without a senior center forward. Until new signings are made, the burden may fall on a small group of players trying to keep Arsenal in contention for the Premier League and Champions League.
“Soon after surgery, Kai will begin his recovery and rehabilitation program, which is expected to extend into preseason preparations for next season,” said the club.
With Gabriel Jesus out after knee surgery, just three players may be available: Leandro Trossard, Raheem Sterling, and Ethan Nwaneri. Gabriel Martinelli also suffered a suspected hamstring injury recently.
Arsenal’s transfer business is under scrutiny, with the club having aimed to add depth to the forward line but only successfully signing Sterling. The impact of this injury underscores the importance of the forward position as the team faces challenges in the league and beyond.
