Overview of the 2026 FIFA World Cup

With an unprecedented 48 teams participating, the 2026 FIFA World Cup will require a significant number of stadiums to host its 104 matches. The tournament will be hosted across three countries for the first time in history: the United States, Canada, and Mexico, utilizing 16 cities for the event.

When and Where is the Draw? How to Watch?

The draw for the World Cup will take place at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., on December 5 at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT. It will be broadcasted live on FOX and can be streamed on FOX One, FOXSports.com, and the FOX Sports App. The pre-show coverage starts at 11:30 AM ET.

The draw is expected to run from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM ET, followed by continuous coverage on FOX until 3:00 PM ET, featuring analysis, reactions, and interviews.

When is the World Cup?

The tournament is scheduled from June 11 to July 19, 2026. The final match will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The FOX networks will provide comprehensive coverage, including live matches, highlights, commentary, and replays.

Who is Hosting the World Cup?

For the first time, three nations will co-host the World Cup: the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Previously, there were only co-hosts in 2002 when South Korea and Japan shared the event.

In total, the U.S. will stage the majority of matches, with 78 games across 11 cities, while Canada and Mexico will each host 13 matches in two and three cities, respectively.
