A World Cup champion with France, a Champions League winner with Barcelona, and an iconic part of Arsenal’s Invincibles, Thierry Henry joins FOX Sports ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
FOX Sports announced on Thursday that Henry will be part of their broadcast team as a lead analyst for the eagerly awaited event. The announcement was made by Brad Zager, President of Production & Operations.
“Thierry Henry’s name is synonymous with the best of the beautiful game,” said Zager. “As one of soccer’s elite, we are elated to add Thierry’s distinguished resume to our talent roster for the biggest World Cup ever and for viewers to hear from this renowned champion throughout next summer’s historic tournament.”
Henry is slated to make his FOX debut on December 5, when they cover the FIFA World Cup draw live starting at 11:30 AM ET. This event will determine the groups for the tournament featuring 48 teams next summer.
“It’s an honor and privilege to be part of the World Cup coverage for FOX Sports. For me, the World Cup is the ultimate sporting event and to join the team and still have some involvement in the tournament fills me with great excitement. The draw in Washington tomorrow means we are close to the start. I can’t wait,” Henry stated.
Regarded as one of the finest strikers ever, Henry stands out as one of the greatest goal scorers in France’s football history, boasting 51 goals in 123 appearances. His club record includes 228 goals for Arsenal in the Premier League alone. Henry was also the first player to win back-to-back European Golden Boots and to earn Domestic Golden Boots three years in a row, alongside numerous other accolades.
His illustrious career as a forward has been marked by historic moments with various European clubs, particularly at Arsenal, where he redefined the records. He played for AS Monaco, Juventus, and Barcelona. In 2010, he made his move to the U.S. with Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls, achieving 14 game-winners over four years.
Henry represented France in four World Cups—1998 (where they emerged victorious), and in 2002, 2006, and 2010. He retired from professional football in 2014. After retirement, his coaching roles include managing AS Monaco and Montreal Impact, as well as working with the Belgium national team and coaching the French U21 and U23 Olympic teams, the latter securing silver at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
From June 11 to July 19, 2026, FOX Sports will present its largest World Cup production, featuring all 104 matches broadcast live on FOX and FS1, with every match also streamed on the FOX Sports App. This upcoming tournament, the largest edition yet, will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, with 48 teams competing across 104 matches in 16 cities—11 in the U.S., including New York, Los Angeles, and Miami.
