Kansas State Appoints Collin Klein as Head Coach Following Chris Klieman's Retirement

Collin Klein, a former star quarterback at Kansas State and most recently Texas A&M's offensive coordinator, has been named head coach of the Wildcats.

Kansas State has officially appointed Collin Klein as their head coach, as announced on Thursday. Klein, aged 36, previously held the role of offensive coordinator at Texas A&M. He replaces Chris Klieman, who has retired.

Klein is expected to oversee the Aggies during the College Football Playoff while transitioning to his new role. After spending his early collegiate years as a wide receiver, he switched to quarterback and built a notable record, leading Kansas State to significant achievements.

After a successful stint back at his former university where he rose through the coaching ranks, Klein’s contract extends for five years with an average base salary of $4.3 million. The Wildcats hope that having an alumnus as head coach will help improve their recent performance, aiming to recapture their previous glory under Klieman’s leadership.
