The Undertaker’s path to retirement was filled with challenges. Mark Calaway, who plays the iconic wrestling character, faced difficulties in his later matches, notably against Goldberg and D-Generation X. Fortunately, he concluded his in-ring career with a well-received cinematic “Boneyard Match.”
As John Cena embarks on his 2025 farewell tour, Undertaker remarks that this tribute is fitting and could serve as a model for other legends. He believes WWE’s approach to Cena’s last tour is commendable and hopes it becomes a standard practice for other deserving wrestlers. Undertaker states:
“I think it’s great that they’re doing this tour the way they are. I don’t think everybody deserves that. I think Cena definitely does because of the workhorse that he was for so long.”
(Translation: I think it’s great that they’re doing this tour the way they are. I don’t think everybody deserves that. I think Cena definitely does because of the workhorse that he was for so long.)
He mentions that Cena, with his 16 world titles, is a prime candidate for such a farewell, due to his dedication to the WWE.
Undertaker suggests that performers like CM Punk and Randy Orton are also deserving of a similar farewell tribute as their careers progress. As he discusses these thoughts, he is also mentoring WWE’s future stars in the new reality series “WWE LFG,” which premieres on Feb. 16.
