
The United States men’s national team is slated to play a friendly match against Senegal on May 31 in Charlotte, North Carolina, marking an important step before their World Cup debut. This friendly represents the penultimate game for the Americans prior to co-hosting the tournament alongside Mexico and Canada.
The U.S., currently ranked 14th, will also face Belgium, ranked 8th, on March 28 and Portugal, ranked 6th, just three days later in Atlanta. Following the match against Senegal, the U.S. will challenge Germany on June 6 at Chicago.
This match will signify the first encounter between the U.S. and Senegal, which was officially announced by the U.S. Soccer Federation on Thursday.
At the World Cup, the Americans will kick off Group D against Paraguay (ranked 39th) on June 12 in Inglewood, California. They will meet Australia (ranked 26th) seven days later in Seattle, and conclude the group stage on June 25 against the playoff winner from teams including Turkey (ranked 25th), Slovakia (45th), Romania (47th), and Kosovo (80th).
Meanwhile, Senegal begins its journey in Group I versus France (ranked 3rd) on June 16, as well as Norway (29th) on June 22, both in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Senegal will wrap up the first round on June 26 in Toronto against teams like Bolivia (ranked 76th), Iraq (58th), or Suriname (123rd).
