December football often involves weather challenges, and while Week 14 gave a hint with Josh Allen’s performance against the Bengals, Week 15 promises to deliver much harsher conditions.
A polar vortex from Canada is expected to bring extremely cold weather to the Midwest and eventually to the East Coast. Many regions will experience temperatures in the single digits, not taking into account the wind chill effects.
“This is the mother lode of cold air and is a term I don’t use lightly,” says AccuWeather meteorologist Bernie Rayno.
But despite the harsh conditions, the NFL is set to proceed, with teams needing to contend with both their opponents and the inclement weather.

Chicago, IL

There is no snow in the forecast, but the temperature is expected to drop significantly with potential flurries on Friday and Saturday. The Browns and Bears are accustomed to tough conditions.
This game marks the coldest game of Caleb Williams’ NFL career.

Kansas City, MO
Sunday weather: High of 23°F, feels like 23°F, wind gusts up to 10 mph.
While conditions in Kansas City won’t be as severe, the Chargers should brace themselves for the stark contrast from their Southern California weather.

Seattle, WA

Seattle is facing another rain issue due to back-to-back atmospheric rivers.
Dolphins at Steelers (Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET)
