Mohamed Salah's Prospective Return from AFCON Amid Transfer Buzz

Liverpool manager Arne Slot expresses confidence in Salah's future at the club as he prepares to join the Egyptian national team for AFCON.

Liverpool bounced back to winning form in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Brighton at Anfield. A double from Hugo Ekitike secured the win, with Mohamed Salah playing a pivotal role by assisting one of the goals after a challenging week filled with transfer speculations.

After discussions with Arne Slot, Salah was brought onto the field earlier than expected due to an injury to Joe Gomez. He played a decent match, managing three shots and recording an assist. Following recent comments on being sidelined, any contribution from him at this point is a positive sign.

Salah is set to join the Egyptian national team for the Africa Cup of Nations, but Slot remains optimistic about his return afterwards.

“Actions speak louder than what I can say about it. Salah was here, which proves how positive our recent conversation was. He holds a significant role in our team, and I expect him back with us soon,” Slot stated.

With potential interests from the Saudi Premier League surfacing, questions about Salah’s future continue as the January transfer window approaches. Yet, if Slot is correct, it appears Salah’s immediate future remains with Liverpool, which is good news for fans who chanted his name as the match concluded.

Salah’s performance against Brighton marks his third assist this season and was instrumental in showcasing the rising form of forward Ekitike.
