Philip Rivers may not have clinched a victory for the Colts in his first game back in five years, but he definitely sparked some inspiration. After the Colts suffered a heartbreaking 18-16 loss to the Seahawks, the 44-year-old quarterback shared insights about his significant comeback.
“Maybe it will inspire or teach not to run or be scared of what may or may not happen.” — Philip Rivers
Although Rivers aimed to win, he recognized the impact his return to the game could have on others. He stated, “This isn’t the motivation, but I think about my own boys, my two sons, and the high school team I coach. I hope that in that sense it can be a positive for some young people.”
Rivers completed 18 of 27 passes for 120 yards, along with a touchdown and an interception. His efforts put the Colts in a position to clinch victory with a pivotal 60-yard field goal, but the Seahawks retaliated with their own decisive kick to seize the win.
As Rivers looks ahead, he focuses on their upcoming crucial Week 16 matchup against the 49ers, where Indianapolis is vying for a playoff spot.
