Michael Bradley Takes the Helm as Head Coach of New York Red Bulls
The former USMNT star steps into a significant coaching role after his successful stint with RBNY II.
Michael Bradley is officially stepping into a prominent coaching role with the New York Red Bulls after steering their youth team, RBNY II, to an MLS Next Pro title in 2025. Following a successful playing career that concluded in 2023 with Toronto FC, Bradley now takes on a crucial task at the club with which he started his professional journey.
Having quickly transitioned from player to coach, Bradley aims to revitalize the Red Bulls, who broke a long streak of postseason appearances last year. In his own words:
“I am excited for the opportunity to be head coach of the club that I started my professional career with and also in the state that I call home. I’m looking forward to working alongside everyone here and doing my part to help this club achieve the success our fans deserve.”
His rise in the coaching ranks has many speculating about his future potential, especially if he leads the Red Bulls back to playoff contention in the coming season. Given his past experiences and the legacy of coaching in his family, opportunities in larger leagues may become available depending on his performance.
As Bradley embarks on this new chapter, the soccer world will be watching closely to see if he can effectively manage the pressures and expectations that accompany such a significant role.
