Neymar Secures Contract Extension with Santos Until 2026: 'Santos is Where I Belong'

Brazilian forward Neymar extends his contract with Santos FC, ensuring his presence at the club until 2026.

Brazilian forward Neymar has reaffirmed his commitment to Santos by extending his contract through the end of 2026.

The 33-year-old striker aims to participate in the upcoming FIFA Men’s World Cup next summer. After rejoining Santos last year, he played a pivotal role in keeping his childhood club in Brazil’s top league, even amidst struggles with injuries.

Originally set to conclude in July, the club confirmed the contract extension on Tuesday. Neymar reflected on 2025, noting, “It was a special and challenging year for me.” He added, “The joy and resilience I experienced were possible because of your love. Santos is my place. Here, I feel at home, safe, and happy.”

His first term at Santos lasted from 2009 to 2013, and he returned after leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. Neymar notched 12 goals and six assists throughout 2025 and recently underwent minor knee surgery in December.

Brazil Coach Carlo Ancelotti has not yet selected Neymar for the national team.
