The Miami Dolphins have officially parted ways with Raheem Mostert. According to an announcement by his agent on Twitter, Mostert “will be playing elsewhere next season” as he seeks a chance to secure a championship ring while the team focuses on younger talent at his position.
The Dolphins confirmed the decision on Friday, which also includes the release of tight end Durham Smythe and cornerback Kendall Fuller. Last season, Mostert’s performance dwindled, averaging only 3.3 yards per carry after a peak year in 2023, where he achieved 1,012 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns.
Mostert, set to turn 33 in April, faces challenges in the free agent market due to his age and recent lackluster statistics. Teams often seek reliable and experienced players, and if Mostert can regain his earlier form, he might still attract interest with a short-term contract.
