The wait is over and a 248-game schedule has arrived. The 2026 NWSL regular season schedule is here and ringing in milestones for the league.
The league will celebrate year 14, and the regular season begins on Friday, March 13. For the first time, 16 teams will take the field as the league welcomes new expansion sides Boston Legacy and Denver Summit. Every team will manage a newly balanced 30-game regular season match schedule, the longest ever for teams in NWSL history, and games will test roster depth and strategy.
Along with two new teams, there will be new facilities celebrating women’s soccer. Denver Summit FC will mark their first home game at NFL’s Empower Field at Mile High Stadium and play remaining home games at Centennial Stadium. Boston Legacy will play a portion of its home games at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Chicago Stars FC recently announced that they play all their home games in Evanston’s Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium. Also getting a new location, and new date, is the 2026 NWSL Challenge Cup.
The single match Cup event is moving to June 26 at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field, home of the MLS Columbus Crew, in Columbus, Ohio. This is to help relieve early season schedule congestion for Gotham FC due to their participation in the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup.
After a break from June 1 to June 28 for the men’s 2026 FIFA World Cup, rivalry week returns July 10. Decision Day will cap off the regular season on November 1, and the NWSL playoffs begin on November 6 with eight teams battling for a spot in the 2026 NWSL Championship on November 21. CBS is the official home of the NWSL Championship.
Fans can watch select NWSL regular season matches across CBS platforms, including CBS, CBS Sports Network, Paramount+, and CBS Sports Golazo Network.
