Barcelona Faces Setback as Pedri Suffers Injury During Champions League Match

Barcelona's midfielder Pedri will be sidelined for approximately a month due to a hamstring injury, confirmed after a Champions League match against Slavia Prague.

Barcelona has officially announced that their key midfielder, Pedri, is expected to be out for about a month due to a hamstring injury he sustained during a Champions League match against Slavia Prague. Manager Hansi Flick relayed the unfortunate news after the match, stating, “It is not good news” for the team’s fitness status, as they now miss one of their essential players.

Despite the setback, Barcelona managed to win against Slavia Prague, with Fermin Lopez making an impressive contribution after his previous hat-trick performance. Currently, Barcelona stands amidst intense competition, needing to secure their position in the Champions League against strong rivals.

Regarding Pedri’s situation, Flick revealed that the team is still assessing his injury and emphasized that they will continue to monitor his recovery. Testing confirmed that he sustained a muscle injury in the right leg during the match, with expectations for a one-month recovery time.

With the upcoming matches, including a pivotal game against FC Copenhagen, the team is under pressure to perform well, even with some key players missing. Flick expressed optimism for the match, stating, “We have a good opportunity to make the top eight.”

The team looks ahead to their next fixtures while hoping for a swift recovery of their star midfielder.
