Impact of Winter Storm on College Basketball Matchups: Rescheduled Games for Top Teams
The approaching winter storm is set to disrupt the college basketball schedule, prompting numerous game reschedules.
This weekend’s winter storm, expected to affect millions from New Mexico to the Carolinas, is anticipated to significantly impact the men’s college basketball schedule. Although no games have been canceled thus far, numerous matchups are being rescheduled to take place before the storm peaks.
Icy conditions may hinder travel for several teams, prompting modifications to their travel plans. A total of 22 teams ranked in the latest AP Top 25 poll are scheduled to compete this Saturday, coinciding with the storm’s expected severity.
Schools in the Midwest and Northern regions might manage winter weather better, but universities in the Southern and Southeastern regions often lack the same capabilities. Thus, most match changes are occurring in these areas.
