The eagerly awaited event, part of Paramount’s media contract, occurs this Saturday in Las Vegas at UFC 324. The match features an intriguing clash between Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title.

Gaethje, a former interim champion and BMF titleholder, faces Pimblett, who is poised to seize his first title in the UFC. Known for his aggressive style, Gaethje previously captured the interim title by defeating Tony Ferguson in 2020. However, championship glory has eluded him, with losses to both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira haunting him. Yet he remains a key player in his division, recently besting Rafael Fiziev in March 2025.

“I’m happy I’m the underdog and I’m happy to be fighting someone so confident with so much momentum behind them because one thing you must understand in this game is, I don’t care how confident you are, you better be perfect,” Gaethje remarked. “And he’s going to make mistakes and I’m going to take advantage of those mistakes.”

Pimblett boasts a perfect 7-0 record with five of those wins by way of stoppage since joining UFC in 2021. In the opening fight of the main card, Jean Silva challenges Arnold Allen at featherweight, and the card also showcases heavyweight action with Waldo Cortes-Acosta clashing against Derrick Lewis. The event also includes a co-main fight featuring former bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley against the power-punching Song Yadong.
