The excitement commenced at the final moments of regulation. With Oklahoma leading 81-78 and only five seconds remaining, Missouri’s junior Trent Pierce launched a 37-foot 3-pointer assisted by T.O. Barrett, forcing overtime and keeping the Tigers’ hopes alive.
Continuing the thrilling contest, Oklahoma’s Xzayvier Brown hit a floater to give the Sooners an 87-85 lead. However, Barrett swiftly passed to Mark Mitchell, who confidently made the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired.
