Dalton Knecht to Compete Against LeBron James After Team C Triumphs in Rising Stars Challenge
Team C wins the Rising Stars competition, securing a chance to face NBA legends in the All-Star Game.
Congratulations, Team C! You’ve triumphed in the Rising Stars competition, earning a trip to the All-Star Game on Sunday night, where LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant will be present in the second semifinal.
San Antonio’s Stephon Castle scored 12 points and was named MVP, while Keyonte George hit a game-winning 3-pointer, leading Team C to a 25-14 victory over Team G League.
“We all wanted to play on Sunday,” Castle stated. “We all wanted to win.”
The group of first- and second-year players on Team C, which includes Castle, George, Phoenix’s Ryan Dunn, Memphis’ Zach Edey and Jaylen Wells, Golden State’s Trayce Jackson-Davis, and the Lakers’ Dalton Knecht, has recorded a total of 5,028 points in their NBA careers thus far.
“All of us are about to play in our first All-Star Game,” Knecht remarked. “That’s crazy… I might play against ‘Bron, right? That true? I get to go against one of my teammates. It’s going to be a lot of fun to get a chance to go out there and make a statement.”
Team C will play against Shaquille O’Neal’s drafted team in the All-Star semifinal, featuring players like James, Curry, Durant, Kyrie Irving, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Damian Lillard, and James Harden.
“Nobody will want to lose to that team,” Curry noted.
