Brooks Koepka Makes PGA Tour Return
Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka expressed nervousness when addressing the media in La Jolla, California, before his return to the PGA Tour.
Getting past the anxiety, Koepka focused on the game, signing for an opening round of 1-over 73 at the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open.
“[I was nervous] just because I care,” Koepka stated. “I think I’ve fallen back in love with the game. Watching my son play a bit, I want him to see me perform well and realize how much joy this sport brings.”
Koepka’s first-round score placed him 11 strokes behind the leader, Justin Rose, who shot an impressive 10-under 62 on the North Course.
This return marked Koepka’s first non-major PGA Tour start since March 2022 and his first competitive round since October 2025. Rust is expected, especially as he played alongside Max Homa and Ludvig Åberg.
“I felt like it was pretty good,” Koepka added. “I struck it well but didn’t hit enough fairways. I just need to get back into the rhythm of competitive golf.”
Koepka’s performance showed promise, with potential for improvement as he continues in the tournament.
