Violence Erupts in NBA Game: Thompson and Rozier Face Suspension

The NBA has suspended players Amen Thompson and Terry Rozier following a violent altercation during the hotly contested match between the Houston Rockets and Miami Heat.

The NBA has suspended Houston’s Amen Thompson for two games and Miami’s Terry Rozier for one game due to their involvement in a brawl during the closing moments of the Rockets-Heat game on Sunday night.

In total, the league has issued $145,000 in fines following the heated match. Coach Ime Udoka of the Rockets was fined $50,000 for verbally assaulting an official and failing to vacate the court promptly. Additionally, player Jalen Green received a $35,000 fine and teammate Tyler Herro was penalized $25,000 for their roles in the incident.

Before the chaos unfolded, Fred VanVleet was also fined $35,000 for making contact with referee Marc Davis.

As a result of these suspensions, Rozier will forfeit approximately $143,242 in salary, while Thompson will lose about $127,586.

The dramatic conclusion saw seven players ejected, including VanVleet, Thompson, Rozier, Udoka, and others, highlighting the intense atmosphere of the game.

“Guess that’s what happens when someone’s scoring, throwing dimes, doing the whole thing,” said Herro following the game, reflecting on the emotions running high during the match.

Miami narrowly triumphed with a 104-100 victory, overcoming a seven-point deficit in the last seven minutes.
