AP Top 25 Rankings Update: Illinois and Kansas Rise, Nebraska Drops
The latest AP Top 25 poll sees significant changes, with Illinois and Kansas climbing the ranks while Nebraska falls after consecutive losses.
The AP Top 25 has unveiled its first rankings for February, showcasing substantial movement among teams after a tumultuous week of basketball. Notably, nine teams from last week’s poll faced at least one defeat, including the previously fifth-ranked Nebraska.
The Huskers experienced their first loss of the season against Michigan before falling to Illinois in a Big Ten showdown. Nebraska plummeted four positions to No. 9, having started the week as one of only three undefeated teams in Division I. As it stands, Arizona ranks first after securing a unanimous vote, alongside Miami (Ohio) as the other undefeated team.
Among the week’s highlights was the thrilling match in Lawrence, Kansas, where the Jayhawks prevailed against BYU with a score of 90-82. The star players, Darryn Peterson from Kansas and BYU’s AJ Dybantsa, drew significant attention, making this an electrifying encounter.
