Iowa State Secures Fourth No. 1 Seed in NCAA Tournament Bracket

Iowa State moves ahead of UConn to claim a No. 1 seed position in the latest NCAA Tournament predictions following a strong performance.

Iowa State overtook UConn on Monday according to the latest predictions in the CBS Sports Bracketology model, becoming the fourth No. 1 seed while sending the previously highly-ranked Huskies down to a projected No. 2. This change comes on the back of Iowa State’s fourth consecutive victory over the weekend.

The Cyclones (20-2) and Huskies both share a record of 5-1 in Quadrant 1 opportunities, but Iowa State currently sits higher in the KenPom, BartTorvik, and NET rankings. Nevertheless, UConn boasts a superior Wins Above Bubble metric.

The competition for the top seeds will undoubtedly heat up as we progress towards March, with several teams looking to assert their dominance during the tournament season.

Here are the projected top seeds in the upcoming NCAA tournament:

Seed East West Midwest South
No. 1 Duke Arizona Michigan Iowa State
No. 2 Nebraska UConn Houston Illinois
