Five-Star Recruit Kemon Spell Chooses Georgia for 2027 Football Class
Kemon Spell, the nation's top running back and a former Penn State commit, has pledged to Georgia, marking a significant addition to the Bulldogs' 2027 recruiting class.
Kemon Spell, considered the best running back for the class of 2027, has officially committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. Initially a commit to Penn State, Spell opened his recruitment after the dismissal of head coach James Franklin. His new commitment to Georgia adds a vital recruit to their 2027 class, which also includes other prominent prospects.
Spell’s Journey
Originally from McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Spell has become a significant target for universities like Georgia, Notre Dame, and Miami as he searched for a new fit after decommitting. He logged 1,755 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns last season, even while recovering from an ankle injury that kept him out for three games.
Why Georgia?
As Spell noted, the connection he formed with head coach Kirby Smart was a critical factor in his decision. “It’s just the love and relationship between all the coaches,” he mentioned, reflecting on his interactions with the staff at Georgia, which he found welcoming.
Despite still being early in the recruiting cycle for 2027, Spell’s commitment has propelled Georgia to a strong start as they aim for a top-ranked recruiting class.
