Patrick Mahomes Sr. Arrested for Parole Breach

The father of Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes encountered legal troubles again after violating his probation due to alcohol consumption.

Patrick Mahomes Sr., father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was arrested on Tuesday for breaching his five-year probation sentence after pleading guilty to DWI in 2024. According to district attorney Jacob Putnam, Mahomes Sr. allegedly drank alcohol, violating probation terms, and was booked in Smith County Jail.

At 55 years old, Mahomes Sr. has faced multiple legal issues during his son’s football career, with his most recent encounter occurring in February 2024 during Super Bowl week, where he was arrested on suspicion of DWI in Texas.

A former MLB pitcher, Mahomes contributed to six teams, with his last appearance for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2003. Two years ago, he faced a third-degree felony charge that could have led to a 10-year prison sentence, but instead, he received probation.

This incident adds to the difficulties the Mahomes family faces as they approach Super Bowl LX, featuring the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. Patrick Mahomes, a three-time NFL MVP, is struggling this season after previously reaching three consecutive Super Bowls, with a significant ACL injury in Week 15.
