Earlier this week, CBS Sports published our annual list of the top 100 prospects in baseball. Today, we’re exploring players who are positioned to elevate their status during the season.
Below, find five prospects we believe have the potential for significant improvement. These players did not make their respective division’s top 20 list and are not already highly regarded. They each have fundamental questions regarding their performance that we believe they can answer positively.
1. Bryce Cunningham, RHP, Yankees
Cunningham displayed a 2.14 ERA in his initial seven appearances of 2025 but faced setbacks due to injuries. If he can maintain health, he is likely to make a significant impact this season.
2. A.J. Ewing, CF/2B, Mets
Ewing had an impressive season batting .315/.401/.429 with 70 stolen bases across three levels while also demonstrating versatility in the field. His performance will be pivotal to altering perceptions about his offensive abilities.
3. Dasan Hill, LHP, Twins
Hill had a solid 3.19 ERA in his first 19 professional starts. Enhancing his command will be essential for his success in the upcoming season.
4. Luke Sinnard, RHP, Braves
Following a strong showing in the regular season, Sinnard impressed with 20 strikeouts in 15 Arizona Fall League innings. Continuing this trend will solidify his position within the organization.
5. Gage Stanifer, RHP, Blue Jays
With a compact delivery, Stanifer’s ability to command his pitches effectively will determine his place in the big leagues within the next year and a half.
