Pep Guardiola has indicated strong intentions regarding his post-Manchester City plans, revealing he is not interested in taking on another club.
The Catalan coach has recently signed a two-year extension with City, which will keep him at the helm until 2027. He has expressed interest in potentially managing at the international level once he leaves the team that has dominated the Premier League in recent years.
“I’m not going to manage another team. I’m not talking about the long-term future, but what I’m not going to do is leave Man City, go to another country, and do the same thing as now,” Guardiola told celebrity chef Dani Garcia during a recent interview.
“I wouldn’t have the energy. The thought of starting somewhere else, all the process of training and so on. No, no, no! Maybe a national team, but that’s different.”
Guardiola is widely regarded as one of football’s greatest managers, with a career filled with trophies from Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and City. He boasts 15 major titles with City, including six league championships in just seven years and a Champions League victory.
As his contract concludes, Guardiola will likely reflect on an incredible 11-year era at Etihad Stadium, which has seen him accumulate a staggering 32 major trophies across his coaching career, including significant league titles in both Spain and Germany along with three Champions League trophies.
Additionally, Guardiola hinted he might completely step back from coaching once his time with City ends.
“I want to leave it and go and play golf but I can’t. I think stopping would do me good,” he said.
