
James Pearce Jr., a linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons, was arrested in South Florida on charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon (two counts) and aggravated stalking after fleeing the scene of a domestic confrontation with his girlfriend, WNBA player Rickea Jackson. According to police reports, Pearce, age 23, crashed his vehicle at Northwest 103rd Avenue and 66th Street while trying to escape, leading to his arrest.
He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a bond set at $20,500. Additionally, he received a conditional stay-away order regarding Jackson. The Falcons acknowledged the incident, stating they are gathering information and will refrain from commenting on the ongoing legal matter.
Pearce was selected by the Falcons as the 26th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and previously recorded 10.5 sacks during the last season, leading all rookies.
