Stephen Curry Sidelines for All-Star Game Due to Knee Injury
Golden State Warriors star will also miss the upcoming two games as he grapples with a knee injury, according to coach Steve Kerr.
Stephen Curry will be missing the All-Star Game as well as the next two games before the All-Star break due to runner’s knee, as stated by coach Steve Kerr on Monday. The expectation is that Curry will return for Golden State’s first game after the break.
Curry, aged 37, has not played since January 30 and will miss games against the Memphis Grizzlies and the San Antonio Spurs this week.
Curry, who was named as one of the five All-Star starters from the Western Conference, is enjoying a solid season, averaging 27.2 points per game—his highest since the 2022-23 season and currently leads the league in 3-pointers made per game (4.0) as well as free throw percentage.
He has been heavily relied upon due to the recent injury of Jimmy Butler, who is currently sidelined with a torn ACL. The Warriors are at 28-25 entering their game against the Grizzlies.
Curry is the second All-Star to withdraw due to injury, following Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder, while Kawhi Leonard has been added to replace him. It appears that Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks may also be unavailable, leaving the World team with nine players, including him.
