
Wings emerge as top contenders following Azzi Fudd's historic WNBA Draft selection

The WNBA Draft on Monday saw the Wings select Azzi Fudd, the first overall pick out of UConn. She stands to earn $500,000 in her rookie year due to the new collective bargaining agreement. Paige Bueckers, selected last year, earlier earned less under a previous contract.
While many were focused on Fudd, Awa Fam Thian, picked third by the Storm, received an A+ in draft evaluations. Jack Maloney commented on Thian’s potential as she transitions from Spanish professional leagues to the WNBA.
