Xander Schauffele has outlined his plans to return to the PGA Tour following recovery from a rib injury.
The world No. 2 golfer has participated in only one event this year, and indicated he aims to play at the Arnold Palmer Invitational set for March 6-9 in Orlando, Florida.
“I need a little more TLC — especially at 31 versus 25 — and make sure everything is oiled correctly,” Schauffele remarked.
Translation: Schauffele emphasized the importance of taking care during recovery.
Following an acute intercostal strain in his rib cage suffered during the offseason, Schauffele initially attempted to compete but found the pain increased significantly, prompting him to take time off. He withdrew from several key events including the American Express and the Farmers Insurance Open.
Schauffele aims to participate in the upcoming tournaments leading up to the Masters, ensuring he can build up his form before the significant event.
