For the second consecutive season, the Philadelphia Eagles are in the market for an offensive coordinator after Kellen Moore accepted the head coaching position with the New Orleans Saints. Previously, they appointed Brian Johnson after Shane Steichen left for the Indianapolis Colts, but that ended after just one year.
Moore’s departure took place under amicable circumstances. According to Eagles’ left tackle Jordan Mailata, Moore was very approachable and always considered the feedback from the players. Mailata stated, “He was able to listen and put his ego aside. Kellen did that for us by just giving us a space to say whatever we wanted about a play and problem-solve together. That was a significant part of this year.”

Similarly, right tackle Lane Johnson emphasized the importance of communication between the offensive coordinator and players. He noted, “Kellen did a good job of creating a lot of different fronts, causing confusion while still being adaptive to the players.”
Jalen Hurts, the team’s quarterback, underscored that building chemistry with a new coach is crucial for maintaining the offense’s momentum moving forward. His comments focused on the need for clarity and cohesion in how the offensive strategies are communicated and implemented.
As the Eagles search for Moore’s successor, they have expressed the need for a coach who can foster an inclusive and communicative approach, a vital aspect of their goal to sustain last season’s success.
