LeBron James Mocks Doug Gottlieb Amid Rough Season for Phoenix

LeBron James takes a dig at Doug Gottlieb after the Wisconsin-Green Bay coach struggles in his first season.

The ongoing rivalry between LeBron James and Wisconsin-Green Bay men’s basketball coach Doug Gottlieb took a new turn on Monday on X (formerly Twitter), when the Los Angeles Lakers star trolled the first-year coach for his team’s struggling record.

The Phoenix finally snapped a 21-game losing streak with a 79-68 victory against Wright State on Sunday; however, James didn’t hesitate to mock Gottlieb’s coaching abilities.

Earned 2 Not Given! Gotta give him credit though! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩

Gottlieb has faced considerable criticism since being hired as coach in May 2024. He notably continued to run his national show on Fox Sports Radio while taking on the coaching position and even prioritized coverage of Super Bowl LIX over practice for his team during the bleak stretch.

Despite the tough season, which has left Green Bay with a dismal 3-24 record, James’s comments signify the ongoing scrutiny Gottlieb faces as a coach in the collegiate basketball landscape.
