In the coming months, chaos will undoubtedly reign in these rankings and others. The best we can do is recognize where the volatility will arise.

At the quarterback position, few values are more volatile than Anthony Richardson and Justin Fields. Both have the potential to perform as top-five quarterbacks in Fantasy Football. However, both could also find themselves as backups before the season ends.

Currently, Fields appears to have the riskiest position, given that Richardson is expected to be the Week 1 starter for the Colts. Fields, meanwhile, is set to become a free agent and needs a team willing to pay him and agree to start him. Thankfully, numerous start positions are available, although it’s uncertain how many teams seek Fields as their starting quarterback.

Despite initially having a successful stint, Fields finished the season with less favorable stats compared to his career averages. However, Fields has rushed for 651 yards and eight touchdowns over his last 13 starts, making him a strong candidate in Fantasy Football if given another chance to start.

In the current rankings, you’ll find Anthony Richardson ranked as QB14, while Fields is positioned at 25. This substantial discrepancy is primarily due to Richardson’s likely opportunity as a starter, in contrast to Fields’ uncertain future. If one wants to bet on Fields getting a starting role in free agency, now would be the opportune time.
