Seven Arrested in Burglary Scheme Targeting Star Athletes

A group of individuals has been charged with burglarizing the homes of prominent athletes, including Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow, stealing nearly $2 million in valuables.

Seven men from Chile have been charged in Florida federal court for orchestrating burglaries at the homes of prominent athletes across the country, according to a criminal complaint.

The FBI report lists burglaries involving notable athletes like Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow, among others. The criminals are accused of stealing around $2 million worth of items such as watches, jewelry, and cash.

The defendants are identified as:

  • Pablo Zuniga Cartes, 24
  • Ignacio Zuniga Cartes, 20
  • Bastian Jimenez Freraut, 27
  • Jordan Quiroga Sanchez, 22
  • Bastian Orellano Morales, 23
  • Alexander Huiaguil Chavez, 24
  • Sergio Ortega Cabello, 38

The group is believed to target high-profile athletes when they are away from home, utilizing various methods to break in and steal valuables. Jail records do not confirm if any of the men are currently in custody or if they have legal representation.

“With that being said, you put all you can into the game, and then you come home and all your belongings are gone… it’s gratifying that these guys have been caught,” commented Bobby Portis, a player for the Bucks.
