Myles Garrett Discusses Joining Lions Amid Trade Talks

Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett has conveyed his desire to potentially team up with Detroit Lions' Aidan Hutchinson, amidst ongoing trade rumors.

While still a member of the Cleveland Browns, Myles Garrett has openly discussed joining forces with fellow star pass rusher, Aidan Hutchinson, on a potential Super Bowl-contending team.

Recently, Hutchinson mentioned their discussions about what it could look like if Garrett were to join the Lions. Garrett, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, requested a trade following a disappointing 2024 season for the Browns.

If we paired up, that would be deadly, Hutchinson said on “The Squeeze” podcast. “We were talking about what could be. I would be thrilled to play beside him. That would be a scary defensive line.”

Hutchinson also mentioned that he and Garrett get along well, noting that Garrett texted him when he was injured, reflecting a good relationship.

While Garret’s desire to win could lead him to the Lions, the move seems difficult as Browns GM Andrew Berry has stated that the team is not open to trading him, even for substantial offers. If a trade were to happen, it would likely require multiple high-value picks, notably since Garrett is a dominant player with considerable stats, amassing 102.5 sacks since 2017.

Garrett, being a key player, would undeniably enhance the Lions’ defense. His presence could, however, require adjustments on Hutchinson’s part, given the way Garrett disrupts plays across the defensive line. The main roadblock lies in whether the Browns will actually consider trading Garrett, despite interest from the Lions.
