Joel Embiid to Sit Out Ten Days with Left Foot Sprain

Joel Embiid faces a minimum ten-day absence due to a sprained left foot and recent knee swelling.

Joel Embiid’s left foot has been a concern again as swelling has developed in his left knee. He is set to miss the upcoming road trip with the Philadelphia 76ers, adding to his injury struggles this season.

Previously recovering from a sprained left foot, Embiid was hopeful about returning but encountered knee swelling following a recent workout. The medical team is recommending additional treatment, with a reevaluation expected in 7 to 10 days.

“He has had his challenges, and we are taking a cautious approach with his recovery.”

After missing the last six games, Embiid will not play in critical upcoming matches against Indiana, Milwaukee, and Denver.

Over the season, he has missed a total of 26 games, contributing to a difficult situation for the Sixers, who struggle at a record of 15-24 this season.

The Sixers are significantly impacted by injuries, with all-star caliber players Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey playing only ten games together this season (7 wins, 3 losses).
