The cherished voice of the Milwaukee Brewers, Bob Uecker, passed away this week, prompting a tribute to his iconic career as a broadcaster, baseball player, and actor celebrated in the film “Major League.”
Uecker’s journey took him from a six-year career as an MLB player in the 1960s to radio broadcasting for the Brewers, where he worked until the end of the 2024 season, giving him an incredible 54-year tenure.

Additionally, he made regular appearances on late-night talk shows, particularly on the “Tonight Show,” where he gained the affectionate nickname “Mr. Baseball” from host Johnny Carson.
Uecker also acted as sportswriter George Owens in the sitcom “Mr. Belvedere” and was featured in memorable Miller Lite commercials during the 1980s.
