LAFC Player Olivier Giroud Victimized by $500,000 Robbery

Olivier Giroud was targeted in a burglary at his Los Angeles home, losing several high-value items including luxury watches.

A burglary occurred at the Los Angeles residence of LAFC forward Olivier Giroud earlier this month, with thieves reportedly absconding with approximately $500,000 worth of valuables. Giroud and his family were not present during the incident, which unfolded on February 5. A police report indicated that a window was shattered in an upstairs bedroom, leading to the theft of jewelry and 10 luxury watches.

So far, no arrests have been made, but the Los Angeles Police Department is actively investigating the case. Giroud joins a list of celebrities experiencing similar misfortunes, including NFL stars like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow. It remains unclear whether Giroud’s burglary is linked to other high-profile incidents.

While this incident occurred, Giroud was preparing for the preseason with LAFC. He has since taken the field for the club this season, participating in their 2-1 defeat against the Colorado Rapids in the opening match of the Concacaf Champions Cup.

LAFC is set to play against Minnesota United in their first game of the 2025 MLS season on Saturday.
