LeBron James Shares Insight on Perfect Partnership with Luka Dončić
In a recent game against the Nuggets, LeBron James discussed his growing chemistry with Luka Dončić.
In less than two minutes into the Los Angeles Lakers’ 123-100 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday, Luka Dončić grabbed a rebound, swiftly turned, and without dribbling launched a perfect outlet pass that found LeBron James for a slam dunk.
After the game, James shared insights on why he and Dončić are building strong chemistry, especially during fast breaks.
“I’m a natural-born wide receiver and he’s a natural-born quarterback, so it fits perfectly,” James commented. “I’ve been running the floor and running lanes pretty much my whole life, and he’s been throwing great passes pretty much his whole life, so it’s not hard to get a rhythm when it comes to that. It’s all about eye contact and him being a great quarterback like he is and me being the recipient of it.”
In total, Dončić has provided eight assists to James over the first four games, with five of them resulting in transition baskets. Dončić, who scored 32 points in the match, expressed confidence that their collaboration will only improve with time.
“I think we still got a lot of improvement. This is my fourth game. So, you know, chemistry takes time. We saw today that it’s getting better. So, every day it’s going to get better.”
