Following their impressive Super Bowl win, the Philadelphia Eagles are viewed as a leading franchise within the NFL. Throughout the offseason, other teams will likely emulate the Eagles’ successful model of team-building. However, general manager Howie Roseman indicated that the Eagles could pursue unexpected moves this offseason.
“It may look different — some of the moves that we may have to make here may not be what are necessarily on other people’s minds,” Roseman said. Translation: “It may look different — some moves might not align with common expectations.”
He emphasized, “It’s probably not going to look like what conventional wisdom suggests. I urge our fans to have patience through the offseason, which extends beyond free agency and the draft.”
Roseman acknowledged previous unconventional decisions, such as signing a running back to a significant contract and trading for a top edge rusher while acquiring another to fill the spot. This offseason could lead to paying a linebacker more than usual or retaining key players like free-agent linebacker Zack Baun, who has proven to be a valuable asset.
“To restrict us by our historical decisions would limit our evolution as a franchise,” he concluded, suggesting that fresh approaches could redefine the team moving forward.
