Adrian Wojnarowski Auctions 'Woj Bombs' Memorabilia for St. Bonaventure NIL Support

Adrian Wojnarowski, a notable figure in sports reporting, is auctioning memorabilia to benefit NIL funds for St. Bonaventure's basketball program.

The initial report of the Luka Dončić-Anthony Davis trade that shocked the sports community was released around midnight ET on February 2, while Adrian Wojnarowski, who was known for breaking such news, was peacefully asleep.

“I saw it, I shut my phone off, and I went to sleep,” he stated to cllct. (Translation: “I saw it, I shut my phone off, and I went to sleep.”)

Wojnarowski has returned to his alma mater, using his well-known “Woj bombs” to fundraise for the name, image, and likeness (NIL) ventures of the St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team. On Monday, he announced an online auction to support his role as general manager of the Atlantic 10 team.

Some items available for bidding include Wojnarowski’s ESPN ID badge, various press passes, and several iPhones he used to break significant news, particularly the one informing his departure from ESPN for St. Bonaventure in September.

Minimum bids for most items range from $90 for Wojnarowski’s 2023 NBA All-Star Game credential to $525 for the phone he utilized to declare the NBA’s suspension of play due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Additionally, there are opportunities for unlimited video chats and dinners with Wojnarowski.

Just one day after announcing the auction, bids had already reached $2,000. The auction is set to conclude on Tuesday, March 4.

At 55, Wojnarowski manages an extensive array of responsibilities together with Coach Mark Schmidt and his team. His tasks encompass focusing on NIL opportunities, managing the transfer portal, and fostering relationships with alumni players.

The upcoming NBA headline will be left for another to tackle.
