Paige Bueckers Creates Highlight Reel to Recruit Azzi Fudd to UConn
In an innovative recruiting move, UConn star Paige Bueckers made a highlight reel showcasing her passing ability to entice fellow player Azzi Fudd to join the Huskies.
In November 2020, Azzi Fudd was the top-ranked prospect with numerous offers but opted for UConn, drawn partly by the chance to play with her close friend Paige Bueckers.
Bueckers creatively wooed Fudd with a highlight reel showcasing her assists to teammates, which she presented to Fudd’s family as evidence of how she would likewise set up Fudd for success at UConn.
In Fudd’s words, “She can get a bucket literally whenever she wants…but she always wants to make sure everyone’s involved.” After battling injuries, both have contributed significantly to UConn’s success this season, underscoring the synergy they envisioned years earlier while recruiting each other.
