Jaden Ivey Suffers Leg Injury During Game Against Orlando

Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey sustains a broken leg in a game against the Orlando Magic, prompting an update on his recovery.

The Detroit Pistons’ guard Jaden Ivey suffered a broken left leg during a collision in a game against the Orlando Magic, according to a report from ESPN.

Ivey shared this unfortunate news on social media, expressing, “I promise to come back even better. The recovery starts now #DetroitBasketball.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Pistons had not provided any updates on Ivey’s condition following the incident.

Detroit drafted Ivey with the No. 5 overall pick in 2022, and he has been having a breakout year, averaging 17.6 points and 4.1 rebounds this season.

The injury occurred when Cole Anthony accidentally collided with Ivey as they both went for the ball. Ivey’s planted leg was struck by Anthony’s momentum, causing him to fall to the ground.

Ivey showed visible distress, clutching his shin while medical staff attended to him. Teammates formed a circle around him, and towels were held up to conceal the injury. After a lengthy delay, he was taken off the court on a stretcher.

Coach J.B. Bickerstaff commented on the situation saying, “It is tough for all of us. There’s no better person or teammate than J.I. and no one cares more about this than he does.”
