The Athletics have appointed Marc Badain as their new president, a crucial role during the team’s planned move to Las Vegas. Badain previously oversaw the Raiders’ relocation to the same city.
Owner John Fisher stated, “We are excited to welcome Marc to the Athletics. His vast experience, particularly on the opening of Allegiant Stadium, makes him an important asset for our future in Southern Nevada.”
Badain, who has an extensive history in sports management, expressed challenges ahead, saying, “The economics of baseball are very different than the other sports. Selling 2.5 million tickets is not an easy task.”
He replaces former president Dave Kaval, who left the team in December amid transition plans.
