In a stunning quarterfinal match, North Dakota's Treyson Eaglestaff shattered tournament records by scoring 51 points, leading his team to victory.

North Dakota star Treyson Eaglestaff made history on Friday by scoring 51 points in a crucial Summit League Tournament quarterfinal match, leading his team to an 85-69 victory over South Dakota State. This impressive performance not only set a tournament record but also represented the highest single-game scoring total for a men’s player in college basketball since March 2022.

“Probably my favorite game of all time,” Eaglestaff said after the game. “That 51 … I just want to give credit to the coaching staff… We stayed down and did what we needed to do.”

His remarkable achievement broke the previous Summit League Tournament scoring record, which was 38 points held by Bill Edwards of Wright State since 1993. Eaglestaff, with his 51 points, showcased his scoring prowess and strategic play, impressing fans and analysts alike.

North Dakota now prepares to face St. Thomas in the semifinal round of the tournament. The match will be aired on CBS Sports Network.
