De'Aaron Fox Comments on Return to Sacramento: Kings 'Didn't Support Me'
De'Aaron Fox expresses his feelings on the Kings organization ahead of facing his former team for the first time.
In advance of his return match, De’Aaron Fox voiced strong opinions about his prior dealings with the Sacramento Kings. He mentioned feeling unsupported by the organization following the dismissal of head coach Mike Brown.
During a recent interaction with ESPN, Fox reflected on his tenure, saying, “Yo, I’ve been here for going on my eighth year. If Mike gets fired, I’ll be going on my fifth coach, and I told them, ‘I’m not going to play for another coach. I’m going to play for another team.’”
Fox, who was picked fifth overall in the 2017 draft, shared that he wanted to remain with the Kings throughout his career, but the firing of Brown changed his perspective. He hopes for better stability with the Spurs, especially as they navigate the recovery of their young star, Victor Wembanyama.
Even with the challenges the Spurs are facing, Fox is optimistic about building a successful future in San Antonio.
