Reports indicate that Dr. Minarro passed away at the hotel where the team was staying before the match. The club made the following statement:

“FC Barcelona is deeply saddened to announce the passing of first-team doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia this evening. For this reason, the match between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna has been postponed to a later date.”

The RFEF shared their sympathy, stating:

“The RFEF regrets the death of the doctor of the first team of FC Barcelona, Dr. Carles Miñarro, and informs that for this reason the FC Barcelona-Osasuna match scheduled for today has been postponed, pending the decision of the competition judge. Barcelona will need to find a new time in their busy schedule to reschedule the match. Currently, the team leads in their Champions League matchup and prepares for the Copa del Rey semifinals on April 2 after a thrilling 4-4 draw with Atletico Madrid.
